Joseph Lee.
The work of artist Joseph Lee has provided me with some inspiration and a desire to experiment within my design work through his paintings; he 'studies faces and the emotions that inhabit them.' I find his work particularly interesting as, through personal experience, I have learned that not everything is as it seems and sometimes things can be overlooked.
Lee’s work consists of 'manipulating everyday faces and objects through segmented brush strokes, color choice, and volume, converging them into a complete and balanced whole,' which I find fascinating how the manipulation can become perfectly balanced.
I have experimented with similar methods to Lee in my own projects, I enjoyed the process and the way that we can turn something into another through a few techniques.
