Motion Madness.
The School of Motion is an online art school that focuses on teaching motion graphics and building a strong community of students, motion graphic designers and creators. Their brand manifesto video is full of experimentation and fun illustrations that inspired me to look more into the world of motion graphics.
In collaboration with Ordinary Folk, a motion design and animation studio, the School of Motion created their brand manifesto to communicate everything they are as a school and how they plan to achieve their goals and inspire creators. The video also contains the work from School of Motion alumni, which further emphasises the collaborative nature of the video.
The video itself shows a combination of sketch line art, transforming into 2D motion graphics, emphasising the creation process from lines and tools that you would encounter when creating a motion graphic; it eventually moves on to show 3D animation. The transition between each frame is seamless and speaks volumes on the skill level of the creators.
Due to the colours, shapes and movements, I believe that the School of Motion’s brand manifesto video is a brilliant source of inspiration for motion graphics and is inspiring that this level of skill can be learnt. The video shows a great deal of experimentation and personality which has had an influence on my work and the work I hope to produce in the future.
