Paula Scher.
Paula Scher, American graphic designer, is ‘one of the most influential graphic designers in the world.’ Scher is a partner at Pentagram, ‘the world’s largest independently-owned design studio,’ and has been since 1991.
Scher is most recognised for her experimental approach to typography and the projects she has created this way. Scher’s work has had a lasting impact on the industry and on the way we use typography in design.
Some of Scher’s most notable pieces of work includes the iconic brand identity she created for The Public Theatre, and her typographic maps. I believe that Paula Scher is a very influential graphic designer who has created great work through experimentation, I find it inspiring.
In 2017, I had the opportunity to see Paula Scher speak in person at The Future design conference in Dublin. It was an amazing experience getting to hear Scher herself talk about her projects and how she navigated the process from start to finish.
